Get Running Selby is part of the RunTogether scheme, and is aimed at encouraging beginner and lapsed runners.

It meets on Thursday evenings at 6.40pm at Selby Rugby Club throughout the year, and runs between three and four miles with a short break around half way. No one is left behind or is left to run on their own. The group is completely free to attend, and you can run with the group as frequently or infrequently as you wish – the only requirement is that you register on the RunTogether website and sign up to indicate that you’re planning on coming to runs so that the run leaders get an idea of likely numbers of runners.

Since its inception some members have gone on to join the Selby Striders, but there is absolutely no pressure to do this. We have had some fantastic results from the group, many have gone on to run races, some even up to the marathon distance. New runners are encouraged to come down and join in what is a very relaxed, friendly and sociable running group. All that we ask is that you can manage to run a couple of miles without stopping at what ever speed you feel comfortable with.
